Saff and Bunny invite you to take part in our virtual short film festival held May 22nd, 2021. As a way to flex our creative muscles, get out of our comfort zone, and showcase our talented friends, we decided to host a short film festival!

Some things to be aware of:

Film crews can be 1-4 people. This includes all roles such as director, editors, actors, camera crew, etc.
Short film must be a minimum of 5 mins and a maximum of 10 mins. This includes credits.
Short Film submissions can be any genre but please keep the rating to PG-13 (however explicit language is fine)
All applications must be submitted by Sunday, April 4th 2021 by 11:59pm EST.
Short films must be submitted as MP4. formatted
Film crews must submit poster art for their short films along with their final edit.
Short film final drafts must be submitted to savingthrowproductions@gmail.com by Saturday May 15th, 2021 by 11:59pm EST. If final drafts are not submitted by this date and time we will unfortunately have to remove the short film from the roster.
The short film festival will play all short films hosted on our website on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 beginning at 12pm EST. We will also have a special discord especially to host this film festival watch party!
Saff and Bunny reserve the right to remove short films if they do not meet the standards listed above.

Details and Rules

Bio: Russian to Christmas is a murder mystery party set in 1950’s. With a booming economy causing suburban communities to bloom all over the US, the Cold War stirs. Russian influence and paranoia spread over quaint little towns as whispers of unwanted visitors plant roots in American soil. There are rumors that an unseemly neighbor could be a Russian spy tasked with murdering a target in your very own cul-de-sac! Who could be the target? Find the spy before they find you!

At this event, you will need to find clues, question suspects, and solve crimes. Feel free to poke around and read up on the guidelines below before you come. Remember, anything is possible! If you have any questions, feel free to email us at savingthrowproductions@gmail.com

Basic Information:

Please do not reveal information about your character before you enter the game as this could be detrimental for your character strategy.
Please arrive promptly at 7:30pm. If you don’t you may miss vital information that will not be repeated.
If someone tries to remove you from the game by giving you a “Kill Card” you must adhere to the “Ghost Guidelines” unless you have a “Safe Card” which stops them from removing you from the game. They must also give up their Kill Card.

Ghost Guidelines: In the event that you are killed, you may no longer actively play in the game. Feel free to keep tabs for fun but you will no longer be able to speak to others about the game. Here are some guidelines should you become a ghost.

You may not say who killed you
Only one person may speak to you at a time
You must receive a talisman (a painted rock) then you may answer ONE question of another player

None Playing Character Guidelines:

You may not aggressively physically remove items from an NPC. (However, there may be opportunities for you to “steal” items when gameplay permits)
NPCs can and will distribute punishments if gameplay requires. Their word is final.
If you do not play by the rules you will get one warning. The second time will be rights for removal from the game.
